Chris Roberts-Antieau

Chris Roberts-Antieau is a self-taught American textile artist whose distinctive fabric paintings combine appliqué, thread painting, and embroidery to create richly narrative works that balance humor, vulnerability, and the complexities of everyday life. Drawing from memory, music, folklore, and the human experience, her work has developed a singular visual language that is immediately recognizable.

Since the 1980s, Roberts-Antieau has exhibited nationally and internationally, with work held in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Art in Embassies program, the American Visionary Art Museum, and the Pensacola Museum of Art, among others
